There's hope for Malaysian music!!! Well, we always say that when some Malaysian artist goes and makes a good song though, so it's like there's always hope, but it never gets any higher than that. It's like the potential is there, but the drive to go above and beyond is not. XD
Not that some Malaysian artists did not make it big (I can't name any though... er... er... what was that famous girl Malaysian artist name again?). But just that it seems like they don't have the sort of staying power that other artists enjoy. Or is it because I'm cocooned up in my own little world and I do not know that they are famous? I sincerely hope it's the latter. ^^
Although the other thing to note here is that she's actually collaborating with Colby O'Donis, which I do like, so maybe that's why I like her song so much.
When my brother asked me to guess who sang this song initially, I said: "Justin Bieber?" XD
I also now get why my brother said the music video seemed low budget. They are using torchlights for disco lights. And the venue is basically a shop or something and they run out of it at the end. ^^;;
But then I like it. Cause Mizz Nina looks awesome in it. And it's simple. Haha.
So they have denying it for ages it seems, but then this MV is sure to stoke that fire again...
SNSD & 2PM - Cabi
You know, Yoona and Taecyeon should just admit they're dating and be done with it. XD
Of course, there will then be numerous crazy fangirls who would want to kill her. Sooo... I guess the secrecy is there for a reason. ^^;;
But seriously, it would just be so damn cute to see them dating lar. Haha. I personally think it would be one of the cutest things I'll ever see, next to Ice Kacang Puppy Love, which is the cutest movie I've ever seen in like ever. I've never really seen a movie and thought of it as cute till I've seen Ice Kacang Puppy Love. XD Read my views on it here is you wanna: HERE.
Seriously, I'm so taken by Ice Kacang Puppy Love I'm feeling slightly inclined to claim it as the best movie I've seen so far this year. The other contenders, so to speak are Alice in Wonderland, How to Train Your Dragon and The Lovely Bones (Which is a 2009 movie, so doesn't really count). XD
I'm also actually looking forward to maybe getting the DVD when it comes out. Haha. Hopefully I will do that though. I normally talk big and never really do much one. HAHA.
Some other stuff:
B.o.B & Hayley Williams - Airplanes
I love Hayley Williams part in the song. Technically, I only like her part in the song. It's kinda sad to think of it that way though, but really, only reason I'm even listening to this song is because of Hayley Williams. Additionally, I keep hearing Paramore's new song, which irritated me initially, but now has played till I've tolerated it till I like it. Power of spamming! XD
Goo Hara taking off her pants in front of Rain!!!
I couldn't stop laughing. It was bloody hilarious to see their reactions. And you get to see Goo Hara in hot pants, so I think it's a win-win on all levels. I can't believe Rain got so flabbergasted though. Haha.
Seriously. How do you people survive with this excuse of a connection?
I can hardly do anything without having to wait like 10 minutes. It's totally absurd. Like now, I'm trying to reload Wonder Girls' 2 Different Tears, it's been 10 minutes and it isn't even half done yet.
On the other hand though, it is limiting what I do a lot so I find time to do other things that I love to do, so I guess it's all good in the end... but still... zzzz
Other stuff:
Big Bang - Tell Me Goodbye
I always did like Big Bang's songs. They're just so awesome. And in the MV, they all just look so damn cool! XD
Previously, had I not developed this way of handling hurt and pain, I would be torn up and double guessing everything I've said and feeling really bad about it. But these days, I seem to be able to compartmentalize quite easily and ignore things or people that cause me grief. (Although I do think about it on and off, but much less than last time)
Anything that makes you feel grief or pain shouldn't be allowed to mess up your whole day no? XD
On other news:
Wonder Girls - 2 Different Tears
I like. Good follow up to Nobody, which, has been a while. I don't like the bloody alien guy, but I think it's better than Hyori's alien. XD
But classically Wonder Girls though. It even has a Yubin English rap in the middle, it's so WG style that I can't say it's revolutionary. I'm not really complaining, but shake things up sometime why don't you? XD
Regardless, I wish them all the best in returning to the Korean scene!!! I'll probably be supporting along this time cause... well, I don't have anyone else to support, and I do like the song and there's Sunye in any case... XD
I get it now, I'm feeling (failing) it quite badly.
Seriously, I do not get her at all. I think she's acting cute one moment and she's actually quite mad, I think she's mad, and she's actually kidding. And she constantly goes off every night saying she hates me and then the next day comes back and asks me why she was hating me the whole night last night...
Quite baffling really. XD
Not talking about my girlfriend or anything, just a general friend. LOL. But seriously, if a friend is this confusing, imagine what my potential girlfriend would be.
It's... fun though... I dunno why, but I keep on thinking this is fun. Someone needs to check my head for internal injuries... ^^;;
Went out for my solo movie day today. I didn't mean to make it all Asian movies, but everyone else besides me has already watched Ip Man 2 and I do want to watch it, so that was movie 1. Movie 2 I was looking at the list and I decided to choose something that no one related or remotely connected to me would ever watch and that was Ice Kacang Puppy Love.
Started off with a bang with Ip Man 2!!!
Donnie Yen MAN!!! I never knew how awesome he was till I watched the Ip Man movies. Hehe. And now my friend keeps telling me to go watch his other movies like Flashpoint, 14 Blades and Bodyguards and Assassins. So maybe one day I will. Haha.
I was thinking at the end of Ip Man 2 that I should've watched Ice Kachang Puppy Love first then Ip Man 2 as I thought Ip Man 2 was an awesome movie and watching a romance film after that didn't feel quite right.
Ice Kacang Puppy Love
I was so so wrong. XD
The movie was nice! I actually could not tell it was Malaysian made! Ah Niu really did a good job with this movie! It felt very much like an art piece. All very nice shots and melancholy music and all that good gooey stuff you need in an art piece. (I'm trying to think of a different term here but I keep coming back to art piece... >.<)
I do actually loved this movie. It was funny! And I could kinda relate to some of the issues it portrayed, so it felt like I was watching a Malaysian's kid's life all over again. (Not my life, some other Malaysian kid's life. Ah Niu for example. :P) And all the love triangles/quadrangles in the movie was hilarious. Made me think of all the funny relationships I saw in my own school in my time. Seeing how the kids coped with their first love was a reminder as to how I coped with my first love (FYI, I did not cope, I just moped. :P).
One issue I think people may have with it is that if you're not Malaysian or Singaporean, you may not get the movie totally. In my opinion it works very well for a Malaysian to like take a nostalgic trip back into their childhood, but for someone who doesn't understand the culture, they just may not get it.
All in all, I would say today I had loads of fun! Ip Man 2 was awesomely action packed! And Ice Kacang Puppy Love had all the makings of an art piece that entertained me to no end! And I would say Ice Kacang Puppy Love was the better movie of the two. I tried to think of the best fight in Ip Man 2, I couldn't really think of one. All the fights were about the same intensity, but none of them really popped out at me like in the first Ip Man (His fight with the Northen guy).
There's still hope for Malaysian Movies after all... XD
And hope Malaysia's badminton as well. Lol. I'll get to that next post. XD
Some simple other stuff: LORD SUNDAY IS OUT!!!
GAAHHHH!!! And to just save RM2.29, I decided to come home today to get my Popular Member Card (My dad's) to then go to Popular tomorrow to buy.
You would think it would be cheaper if I just bought it then and there and save on the petrol needed to go and buy it somewhere else no? ^^;;
Just something I came up with when I was suddenly hit by a bout of depression and was feeling emo and all that good gooey stuff you feel when you are down.
Spammed it in Facebook. XD
In case you can't see, repeated here for your viewing pleasure: 1. What do you do when you see a Witch? Poke her and run the hell away!!! 2. How about a Hunter? Run the other way while screaming your lungs out!!! XD 3. Got hit by a Boomer? Start turning in circles and firing till your legs give out. 4. A Tank throwing things at you? Play dead. You'll be dead soon. 5. Got spit by a Spitter? Be a man, wade through the goo and stab her in the heart. 6. Jockys refusing to let go? Jump over a cliff, he'll lead you to it anyway. 7. Chargers coming? Step to one side and watch him flail meaninglessly against the wall. Then laugh before he catches you. 8. Smokers got your neck by his tongue? ... good luck!
And my final post: If you can't tell yet, I'm really really really REALLY bored. XD
Really sums it up quite well. I do really do number 1 and 2 quite often the last time I played. When I hear a witch in L4D, I will actively search her out, try to crown her, fail and then run the hell away before I get pinned and before I get killed. The Hunter is also the same case. I see a Hunter in front of me, I backpedal while screaming and shooting before he pounces on me and proceed to mangle my internal organs out. The only special infected I've had quite some luck killing so far has been the Boomer, because he's really... kinda dumb. Haha.
Now I really want to play Left 4 Dead or Left 4 Dead 2. Haihz.
Happy as hell... except for the fact that the internet crawls... it literally crawwwwllllsss...
It's so slow I can run to Africa and back before it loads finish. I wish the HDH was played earlier so that I could watch it earlier at faster speeds and at higher res as compared to now when I am compromising by watching 360p res and it's still slow as hell. >.<
But besides that, I'm dandy! I've done the standard organizing of my books and music cupboards in record time as I do not want to waste too much time doing that. I've got other things more important to do such as job hunting (Which actually kinda sucks, but exciting at the same time, lol).
But before that, I will enjoy my life as much as I can right now! Nothing like the present I never always say. XD
YUI In the Japanese movie, also the singer of the songs Sky Line, Good Bye Days and It's Happy Line which are awesome! XD
Erika Sawajiri In the Japanese serial, which was fine, but I still think the movie is better. Also had some songs which were different from movie, but still sounded fine. Only thing now is that Erika seems to have fallen off the face of the earth. Apparently got married and went to Europe or something. Hahaha.
Taeyeon In the Korean musical currently running now! XD
It's just kinda painful how much I want to watch this. Which is crazy because I wouldn't be able to get the tickets, I'm not in Korea and there's the small issue that I do not understand the language AT ALL!!! But I'm just looking at the news articles, the pictures, the videos and I really really really want to watch this musical. XD
Admittedly, I have seen some clips of her acting, and it IS a bit awkward, however I just got goosebumps listening to Taeyeon sing Good Bye Days, so I guess it all evens out in the end. XD
Gahhh... at the very least, I hope I'll be able to find some way to get hold of the songs she sings in it. If someone releases an album, I would soooo buy it. :P
Taeyeon - Song of the Sun clips/Good Bye Days
Point to note, Taeyeon's voice lacks the high pitchness of YUI to make the song sound really innocent and pure, but it is a nice take on it all the same. XD
I just got hit by my annual "feeling like crap" disease which I get hit every once in a while. And it's just so random. I just see something, and I just suddenly feel like crap. I wish I had someone to talk to. Even if it's not to talk about this, I could use someone to distract me.
I can't recover from things like this easily, especially when it's something I really care about. I would say things like "Why do you do this to me God!?" but for the reason that I don't really believe in God. I do reason things out by saying that that's how things turn out, but it sucks when I see conditions that prove the contrary and it just depresses me to no end.
Could really use someone to talk to, haihz. >.<
Some other stuff:
Buffy the Vampire Slayer - Retreat
Weirdest storyline I've read so far. But then the graphic novels so far have had the weirdest stories. In any case, some of the cover artwork is amazing, the storyline art is not as stellar, but it's tolerable.
Thought of watching Kick Ass today, but stupid cinema not showing again. ^^;;
I've finally caught up on two of the Gayo Daejun shows of 2009. Haha. I've been putting it off, but am now finally watching all three. The KBS one was okay, reasonable nice but the SBS one was awesome!!! The YG family performances was awesome, the SM family performance was awesome, the collaborations were awesome and besides the one where the guys dress up as girls, most of the performances were just awesome.
That's the thing with me though, when girls dress up as guys to perform the guys songs, I deem it the best thing ever. When the opposite occurs, I cringe and call it a catastrophe.
On the other hand, it's nice to see 2AM and Davichi collaborating. That was the most outstanding performance to me for some reason. Seeing Haeri and Jokwon pulling those notes were just amazing. And of course I have to mention SNSD, who were damn cute in the pajamas but the entire thing just felt a bit weird, although I'm not really complaining, just saying.
I am now so used to seeing videos in 720p or 1080p/i that when I went a watched something in 360p, I got a headache. ^^;;
Probably got conditioned to seeing HD vids that I now cannot watch SD vids. While I am glad for the HD technology, I am kinda sad that I can't seem to tolerate SD vids anymore as I will be going back to my country which has the Internet connection of a snail.
The drive to do something, that is what I'm severely lacking right now. Right now when I oughta be driven to find a good job that can kick start my career, I have no urge or want to start looking. >.<
I have actually started a bit, but it's not what I would call extensive job hunting yet. I know I should, but I just can't make myself do it.
Additionally, everytime someone asks me how I feel about it, I always answer that I am both excited and terrified. ^^;
It's just something I know I have to do, but I'm just so bloody afraid to do.
That's not just it though. I do realize I have a severe lack of drive in anything I do. I will do stuff, but I won't be like totally super intense about it or want to finish it. I will just do it and get it done with no passion whatsoever. Ultimately, the question would be what am I passionate about? I have rotated the things I have been passionate about from music, to art, to writing, to computing, to programming, back to writing and vice versa. I have never really found something that I am really damn good at and I can't find something that I want to be damn good at.
Everytime I think I have found something I like or think I am reasonably good at, I find out that someone is better than me and I lose focus and give up then. It's just frustrating. I really wish I had something that I was best at and can then focus on that and take that as a starting point.
Life's just hard that way.
Haihz...
Dun think I'm going to put this on innit. One thing I have learnt is that no one want to read when you rant. People want to read the funny stuff or the stuff that you do when you go somewhere or do something. I do actually like to read rants though, even when I do not know who that person is. I'm not sure why, but it could be because I'm happy someone out there is having problem (Sadistic no?) or maybe it's because I'm relieved that I'm not the only one out there being all confused and shit.
Life's like a box of chocolate, you never know what you're gonna get. ^^
Done? Kay.
Now, let me talk about that quote. I have never understood that quote! I mean really... how do you not know what you're gonna get!? You're gonna get chocolate! It's chocolate goddammit! I mean what's the "never knowing" part? What size of chocolate? What shape of chocolate? It just baffles me and I have never really understood it. I also don't get why people think it's a nice quote. I personally don't think it's a nice quote, but that's maybe because I just don't understand it. Hehe.
I just actually realized, quite some part of my life has been influenced by South Korea recently. Although I am technically influenced by a lot of stuff anyway.
I am titling this post "South Korea" because the craziest thought just entered my mind like 5 minutes ago while I was washing my dishes (Or dish, actually it's not even a dish, it's a container that is used to keep food... in other words tupperware... not the brand, just a container... okay, I think I'm rambling).
I wanna go and live in South Korea! XD
So okay, it's not the most logical or well thought out plan and it is very impulsive, but the thought just came into my mind when I was watching a lecture (Yes, you read right) on Starcraft. I mean why not right? I love the music there, their Internet connection is OUTSTANDING and they have TV channels dedicated to e-gaming. What's not to like? And saying this may sound a bit wrong, but my last few "big" purchases have all been from that country.
This is the lecture btw, held in UC Berkeley. You have to know differential equations to take it. Talk about taking the fun out of something fun. And I cannot believe I am willingly watching a lecture when I don't actually have to anymore. ^^;;
I did not put South Korean girls on the list btw, because I think I am overly influenced by the idol groups that I watch and that I am unfairly influenced to think that all South Korean girls are hot when I actually think that is not totally the case.
I mean, with pictures like this can you really blame me? (Ignore the guys... :P)
As with any plan (idiotic or otherwise), there are issues: 1. Language. 2. Culture. 3. Mafia... er... communis... nono... wait... money, let's leave it at money. 4. I'm a homeboy. I can't really leave my home easily. Although now that I know myself better, I actually do understand how far I can be away. 5. I expect massive collateral from this decision. And I mean massive.
Ultimately, it is just a pipe dream and a shaky dream at that. I do actually doubt I'll ever do it anyway, but just a random thought that just entered my head. At the very least though, I would love to go to South Korea one of these days to just holiday/shop/stalk/sight-see. XD
Other stuff, very shaky today.
F.Cuz & Yao Yao - Jiggy (Chinese version)
Who is Yao Yao? I've been googling her a bit just now and the only thing I've gleaned from my googling is that she is famous because she has huge breasts and that doesn't really sound like the thing you wanna be promoting about yourself. ^^;
Although the connotations of this collaboration does make me laugh. For one, the guys are singing about getting "jiggy", the girl has a name which implies she "shakes" a lot and the girl does have some reputation for being "shaky". (From what I gleaned in two minutes of googling)
So if you are a fan of Yao Yao, do please let me know who the hell she is. XD
KARA - We're With You
Been spamming this whole day. Additionally, the song itself has the words 'shake' and 'bounce' in it as well. I think I've been exposed to too much jiggying, shaking and bouncing today. One can only take so much up-and-down movement before one goes completely stark raving mad. ;P
I'm not going to say much, but I think you should go watch it and form your own opinion. I liked it, but I do have a 'but', which I will get into one day, maybe, just not now since I wanna keep things nicely spoiler free. ^^
This post is mainly to talk about the other stuff anyway. I have a lot list of videos I wanna tag to ensure I can remember them tomorrow. ^^
Caribbean Bay CF (SNSD edited version)
Seriously, seriously!!?? I mean seriously!? Seriously!? Did I mention seriously!? So I did like it. But I am finding some people being quite immature about it. Haha. Typical. But hey, I don't really give a damn. XD
KARA - We're With You
T-ara - We Are The One
World Cup songs for Korea. Looks like I may have to support Korea. I like KARA's song better though.
Knight and Day
I find this movie trailer very intriguing. Tom Cruise does seem to do best in these sort of funny roles. Although his acting is basically the same throughout most of his movies. The intense funny guy. Haha.
Anyway, my head is spinning. So I'll go sleep... see ya! XD
So I currently am hosting two ulcers in my mouth. Their placing is impeccable, like a Pylon on Metopolis (SC2 reference, don't worry if you don't get it. ^^;;). I mean, it now hurts when I even want to eat or even stretch my mouth. Like when yawning. I mean yawning hurts! What the heck man!
Anyway, for a clearer picture, some pictures!!!
*WARNING, horribly drawn pictures ensues... XD*
Imagine this circle is my mouth.
Now imagine that the red circles are where the ulcers are located.
So the problem now is that whichever way I go, it will hit one of them.
If I take the safe open end it will hit the painful side end.
If I take the unsafe open end, it will hit the painful front end.
So basically, I'm screwed. Haha. It is bloody killing me sia. I really want to eat some fun stuff, but I can't, especially since I want to celebrate the end of my academic days, but I am stuck eating safe soft-ish stuff only. >.<
Did you know there are ulcer gels btw? I never knew they existed. So I've been suffering all my life with ulcers when there are magical gels out there that will heal your mouth in a couple of days? I mean come on!!! XD
Although, I am not using them though. Haha. I never really did believe in using non natural medicine unless it's a really serious case. I think I've only taken two Panadol pills in my entire life. The medicine I probably take the most is cough syrup, I'm addicted to that stuff. (Okay, not really)
Anyway, wish me luck with my ulcers and that they heal quickly so that I can eat!!! I really wanna eat KFC for some reason btw, it's killing me. Hahaha.
I made another mistake today though, I went out expecting to see Kick Ass. But little did I know that every cinema here actually pushed all the movies on the list out for Iron Man 2 and Ip Man 2. I mean, what the hell man. Then I figured might as well watch Iron Man 2, but then the tickets all sold out. Zzzz... what's the bloody rush man, is there a prize to be the first to watch Iron Man 2? I mean seriously!!! >.<
Anyway the other stuff!!!
The Last Song
Miley Cyrus is not the best actress out there out there. But for some reason I really do want to watch this movie. And just watching the trailer makes me really really want to watch it. I'm just a sucker for these sort of movies. ^^;
Her singing though, I thoroughly did like. Well, at least I did like "The Climb". I mean that song was just brilliant. Her song for this movie (I mean did you actually expect her to not sing a song for her own movie?) is "When I Look at You". Sounds like it's going to be a 'love' song.
Miley Cyrus - When I Look At You
Not as good as "The Climb" I would say. It seemed to work very well in the trailer though. Not sure why it doesn't work that well as a solo song.
Let me say again though, I really do feel like watching the movie! Hahahaha.
