~ Oh! Gloria! ~

Three parts to this, one part is Korean, the other is Japanese, the last is my geekism stuff. XD

First two parts concern music by the way, in case you were wondering, so, yea, do what you gotta do. Third part concerns Star Wars! XD

On to it.

Part 1:
SNSD's Oh! Comeback stage was today. And I actually watched it, er... telecast live. I would love to be there to actually see it live, but that's a whole different issue.

The quality live wasn't as good as these though:

I mean I ran with a lower quality stream just so I won't lose my streaming and it worked relatively fine, I actually watched SNSD perform live, so to speak. I don't have much information on this, but are the Music Core telecast recordings of earlier performances? Cause Show! Show! Show! did look like it was a recording.

One on hand, the side of me that can think logic-er, I would say the performances were fine. It wasn't really the bombastic performance I was hoping for. On the other hand, the fanboy in me loved the performance! Both sides of me did not like the hair in the Show! Show! Show! performance, but that is just a minor gripe. The cheerleader outfits in Oh! was hot! XD

I can almost throw reason out the window when I talk about these girls. I'm not exactly sure why. XD

Part 2:
YUI - Gloria

I love YUI! She is the second artist that I started supporting by buying her album after BoA! Thing is with YUI (And BoA too actually), is that I really do not download or search for their new stuff online till I see it in stores and buy it, then I rip it and that's my YUI (Or BoA) fix. It's been a while since I last actively searched for YUI (Or BoA) new stuff before I see it in stores.

Maybe I should amend that. I still love them and I do support them, just that I've been focused more on the Kpop market rather than the Jpop market these days.

On this video anyway, I love her hair. I've always said I seem to have a weakness for girls with this sort of hairstyle. And the video is just love. Feels like a bit of an airy feeling to it. And her voice is also just love. XD

Part 3:
Star Wars - The Old Republic

Awesome not? XD

Rule of Two my ass, haha. Like Drew said, I never did give much damn about the Old Republic era, but maybe I should change my mind. Haha. But I don't think I can afford to. I have to be a but more picky with what I want to follow, so I probably won't delve into this era much. I would probably wanna know how the Rule of Two came about, and I may play this game when it does come out, in 2011. ^^

Sith babeh! I meaaannnn, S-I-T-H BABEH!!!

~ Who is your favourite guest judge? ~

From among the following:
Victoria Beckham
Mary J. Blige
Shania Twain
Kristin Chenoweth
Avril Lavinge
Katy Perry
Neil Patrick Harris
Joe Jonas

I loved Victoria Beckham, Katy Perry and Neil Patrick Harris! Mary J. Blige, Shania Twain and Kristin Chenoweth were fine. But Joe Jonas and Avril Lavinge didn't seem to really do much in my opinion (I'm being nice and diplomatic here, I do like Avril after all).

The show, isn't technically about the judges, still, it is one of the things I'm more interested in. And I'm actually liking the show much more without Paula in it, which provided the chance to see guest judges on the show, and additionally I don't need to hear Paula beating around the bush so much.

Of the auditions today, I loved Erica Rhodes: Click to read.

XD

Weird thing these days is that I do appreciate it when someone comes in and blows us away. Funny auditions are, well, funny, but they don't provide the spine chilling feeling you get when someone is that damn good and their singing just stays in your head for hours/days afterwards.

I seem to be raving on and on about American Idol a lot these days. I still don't know why I'm so into it this year, I just don't get it! HAHAHA!

On personal news, I FINALLY found the thing I was looking for!!! I canvassed the entire Melaka, the entire citystate of Singapore and I HAVE FINALLY FOUND IT!!!

I will take pictures and stuff later. Stay tuned. XD

~ Your Mother Told You There'll Be Days Like This ~

Good days. Really really really good days. XD

I'm not sure why, but today was a really really good day.

Nothing really special happened. I didn't win a contest, I didn't meet a girl, I didn't make loads of money off the Internet, I didn't pick up two dollars off the floor (That actually happened on a previous day).

But it just felt like a damn good day.

Looking back on it, it would seem like just a mundane day in my life. I woke up, I went for lectures, I came back, I watched videos, I updated my files, I updated my lecture notes and tutorials, everything I would've normally done on a simple day.

I'm not sure what made today special, but I went throughout the whole day thinking that it was a damn nice day. Maybe it was my attitude, my sunny, bright, positive attitude of the entire day that made it so tolerable and so perfect to me.

Just goes to show what a sunny disposition can make of your day. XD

Just so I can quantify it:
1. I had a 'talk' with someone at Maybank who kept on repeating: "Maybank will never send you e-mails, if you get an e-mail, disregard it and flag it as a scam." (Maybank or any other bank users take note, this PSA is brought to you by the awesome people at Insert company name here.)
2. Lecture was awesome, I never understood as much as I did from any other lecture till this lecture. This lecture put all other lectures to shame. :P
3. Tutorials were even more awesome. And I was feeling so good that I probably came off as a know-it-all for pre-emptively asking and answering questions throughout the tutorial.
4. Initially had a plan to go to a concert, but my broke brother came to borrow money from me (I'm not even kidding... XD), so we hung out and watched American Idol! Everyone should watch American Idol! I don't have a good reason why you should, but just do it and get back to me.

Mundane right? I have no idea why it felt like such a good day. Haha.

And speaking of Sunny (Who, for some reason or other, is my favorite member of SNSD at this point), them nine girls have finally released their newest MV!

Yes, cheerleader outfits, oh how low has SM Entertainment sunk.

That being besides the point, I felt damn bloody embarrassed when I actually logged into the library, chose a computer seat sat down and loaded YouTube to watch this video in the library. But I didn't really care, I just had to watch it. XD

I do however, love the point where Yoona, Sooyoung and Taeyeon started dancing at 0:40 seconds. That part is just awesome. And everyone is going on and on about the "twist" ending, which, I never expected a MV to have a twist ending ever, but it did work, I'm now more curious as to what the next MV will be rather than seeing them perform Oh! live. Cause for one thing, I don't really think Oh! is all that awesome. It's an okay song, but I really expected a bit more from them, or at the very least, a less electropop song, I really wanna hear the raw voices rather than having that beat keep, well, beating and covering up what I think are some awesome voices.

Anyway, sleep! Let's see if I can keep this sunny attitude going till, well, tomorrow. (I do seriously doubt it though, the lecture tomorrow will be damn boring as hell.)

~ Forever Waiting ~

You know it's bad when I just keep refreshing the page hoping for SNSD's new MV to release. XD

I know there's a schedule somewhere for me to check the time of release or something, but I just cannot find it.

So it's basically refreshing and refreshing the page again and again. =.=

I was wondering though, is it just me, or is it the fact that Western artists don't actually have that much hype over the release of their music videos? I don't really remember any Western artist which had a lot of hullabaloo going on just before the release of their music video. XD (I realize it is relative, but just thought I'll throw this out there... :P)

On other news:

Kara to make comeback in February!

KARA's coming back! Yay! Although I do think it's bad timing. Yes, they are relatively popular, but I do think anyone coming out with their album or whatever now is just going to get slaughtered by SNSD. KARA's Honey did dethrone Genie (Or was it Gee?), but that was when SNSD was winding down. Even 2AM chose to avoid SNSD. They said something about wanting to make a better album jacket for their album, but really, my opinion is that they really didn't want to go against SNSD. :P

January 25, 2010

~ Fifteen ~

That is one high quality video.

I like Taylor Swift, I really do. Thing is it sometimes feels weird when I am humming or singing along to her songs cause, well, she's singing about first love and all that stuff that doesn't really apply cause, well, it's me. XD

Well, anyway, let's just enjoy music for music's sake shall we? :P

~ Oh! ~

I get that electronic pop is popular these days, but does everyone have to do it? It doesn't really show off much singing prowess.

However, I did already order the album, so I can't say much. And let's just say I love them unconditionally, they could sing the alphabet (Yes, I got that from American Idol) and I would still love them.

They look like they're having fun in the MV. Which is all the MVs at any rate. But anyway, I'll have that to look forward to. XD

And I'm technically already spamming it, so it'll probably grow on me sooner rather than later. It took me a while to get into Gee also anyway. XD

~ 0.001% ~

Nothing much, just to say that the latest American Idol episode, approximately 0.001% of the contestants got through. 13/12000.

I thought it seemed low, but then actually it's about that every episode anyway.

Shania Twain's episode didn't seem that funny though. There weren't many funny auditions, which is one of the reasons why I bother watching this anyway.

And I am really not missing Paula, haha. I'm relatively loving the guest judges at this point and it would be really interesting to see Joe Jonas and Avril Lavinge judging later on in the upcoming episodes. XD

I'm still really not sure why I'm so into American Idol at this point. Haha.

And as far as I remember, whenever I watch an episode of American Idol and when someone sings Heaven (Which I believe is a Bryan Adams song), I inevitably go to YouTube and listen to DJ Sammy's version.

I've never actually listened to the Bryan Adams version. I really oughta don't you think? ^^

January 19, 2010

~ HIMYM - 100 ~

Congrats on hitting 100 episodes, but hell, I'm getting bloody annoyed by the fact that it has been one hundred episodes and we still don't know who the mother is.

On the other hand the episode looks fantastic. You've got all sorts of guest stars (Stacy Keibler! XD) and it ends with, in the executive producer's words: "a big-ass musical number". Although I don't get why everyone thinks a musical is that special, even though I do think the song is kinda catchy, and Neil Patrick Harris is just awesome. XD

I should go get a suit... :P

January 17, 2010

~ KICK ASS ~

Looks like a seriously awesome movie! I didn't expect that. When I heard the name Kick Ass, I was like "really?", but the trailer looks cool. XD

2nd trailer based on the character of Hit Girl (A bit the blood and gore and foul language in this one, who knew young girls could be so violent?)

Really looks awesome, I should actually compile a list of movies I have to look out for this year, the main ones at the moment are:

Legion (For god knows what reason, it doesn't really look that good)
Iron Man 2 (Cause it will be just awesome, you got Scarlett Johansson for one thing, for another, you get to see War Machine! XD)
Kick Ass (Self-explanatory)
Ip Man 2 (I think it'll be this year, I just watched it yesterday without subtitles and it was still just goooood, although now that I watch it again, I think the story is basically negligible... ^^)

I'm sure they'll be others like Eclipse (Start shuddering although I haven't watched New Moon), Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows (Part 1) annnnddd... Shrek 4? But I'm sure I'll find out about those when they release, I need to note those that will just pass me by without making a fuss, like Kick Ass, cause I don't really think that will hit this region.

Ooh, throw in The Lovely Bones too. I'm really liking that trailer. The movie will seem sooooo My Sister's Keeper, but more surreal.

Anything else? Anything else?

~ BSOD ~

Was sleeping the other day while I left my computer on running defragmentation, when I suddenly woke up in the middle of the night at 3am to hear the computer going "beep beep beep" and showing me the bloody annoying BSOD.

If BSODs were like this it wouldn't be so annoying... ♥

So being a dumb ass, I thought if I just forget about it, it'll go away. And it worked, for a day or two. Then it started cropping up more often, it even happened when I shut down my computer. I mean I clicked on "Shut Down" and it showed me the BSOD and restarted the computer for me. =.=

So I had to actually try and diagnose the problem. Although ultimately I have no idea what I'm doing, so I just did an update of the OS. And apparently it worked. Although it may still KO on me any time, but still, it feels more solid now, although the movement feels sluggish, as Vista always felt to me. Vista always seemed sluggish to me. =.=

And Vista does actually suck. Haha.

The good thing that came of this is my desktop is so damn freaking bloody clean now.

Wheeeeeeeeeeeee... ♥♥♥♥

Anyway, I'm still not sure if the thing is okay ady or not, I'm hoping it is. Alternatively I figured I might as well upgrade to Windows 7, but I'm not sure if that'll work out properly or not. =.=

~ American Idol Season 9 ~

I'm not sure what happened to me, but during my last one month holiday which just passed, I spent almost every day at 6pm sitting in front of the TV watching American Idol Season 8 (On Star World, the reruns)! And I thoroughly enjoyed it even though I knew who was going to win and all that.

Fact is that it is a quite entertaining show and there is just some awesome songs that come out of the auditions and such, of which I heard:

Allison Iraheta - Alone

This one really caught me, it just sounded awesome and it did kinda make me a fan of Allison, although I haven't actually heard any of her newer songs.

So since the new season was just around the corner, I decided that I should chase it this time instead of watching when I can. So today was the first episode (I think) and I was all geared up to watch it on Singapore's public channel 5, when the stupid thing suddenly no sound. I have no idea why, it may be the school's network got some bugs, but it pissed me off. I tried going to the TV room to watch but it was just so noisy there that I gave up and came back.

Anyway, I finally figured out a way to watch it, so no biggie. And some things I can say:

1. It's actually nice to follow a season as it is progressing. The last time I did this was in season 3 when Fantasia won. (Where the hell is Fantasia now?)
2. I don't think Paula not being there is affecting the show at all. Sorry to say, but I kept thinking that Victoria Beckham was more interesting than Paula. I also think she would make a great permanent judge. XD
3. On the other hand, if Simon does leave (Which seems he will) he will be sorely missed.
4. The one who caught my attention is the first person to receive the golden ticket, Maddy Curtis.

Whee... I got favorite already. A show is always nicer to watch when you have something hanging on it. Hehe.

Looking forward to the next episode, tomorrow, I think. I didn't realize it would be shown in consecutive days. Haha.

~ Beginning of the End ~

That title is just so cliché.

But anyway, it's my last semester in University! So it's time to work towards the day which I've been working for the past three and a half years.

I qualify!

Yeah! I actually did spend days wondering when I accessed this page, it would tell me that I forgot to take some essential module that would cause me to not be able to graduate, but turns out my shoddy planning and counter-planning did work.

Additionally, my module list for this semester seems soooo... broad. I mean I'm taking all sorts of modules that actually have nothing to do with my major.

GEM2505 TAMING CHAOS
LSM1302/GEK1527 GENES & SOCIETY
PC1327/GEK1519 SCIENCE OF MUSIC: MUSIC, PHYSICS & KEYBOARDS
PH2110/GEM2006 LOGIC
EE2009 SIGNALS

Except Signals, which is a core module, the rest are all Unrestricted Electives that I need to fill out my 160MC. So this semester I will be attempting to tame chaos using signals and logics while learning to understand genes' place in society and the science of music.

Blows your mind doesn't it?

Anyway, three or four more months of this and I'll be done. Although then the next scary part would come and let's just say I'm scared. XD

On that note, something relatively funny (To me at least) I found on Wikipedia:

I was okay with the mathematical function part, but just throwing in the XX part just seems now like a tad bit forced to me. XD

~ The Imaginarium ~

First of all, turns out I'm a bit too lazy to want to talk extensively about the awesome BBQ that we had last Saturday, so in that regard, I would like to direct you to Koci, Yong, Zhou (Maybe) and others blogs to read up on that if you wanna (All links on the right side of this layout at this point). Pictures if any are at my Facebook and by extension, my friends galleries cause I don't post any pictures of myself anywhere on Facebook. (My FB: Advanced_Bishop(at)hotmail(dot)com, I always wanted to do that. :P)

All I'm going to say about it are:
1. Food was awesome. I mean seriously awesome. (Kudos to Koci!)
2. Company was awesome. ^^;;
3. While I still don't 100% get why people get drunk for the heck of it, it was actually kinda fun. And next time if I do drink, I would like to actually try tasting the thing cause, really, I was too caught up in thinking whether I could really handle it to really think about tasting anything. And I still have some rashes from it btw, most of it has recovered, but there are still rashes in places you don't want to know. ;P

So on to:

The Imaginarium of Dr. Parnassus

Just a very convoluted show. I wasn't sure what I was watching and the ending is still a bit confusing to me although I think I get it now.

I would like to point out though, that I mistook Lily Cole for Christina Ricci and later for Devon Aoki. And while I thought she looked really really really awesome in the movie, I am actually finding it hard to find a picture I like that I can post here.

This maybe. Maybe I was influenced by Dr. Parnassus yesterday, I really can't find a picture of her that I really really like. Unless you want to count the French Playboy pictures, which are... nice? But just doesn't really appeal all that much to me.

Still, I would become a fan if for no other reason than she is English and I think Englishwomen are hot. Or alternatively, let's just leave it at I'm not choosy. ^^

The Imaginarium of Dr. Parnassus by the way, is quite a nice movie. It, if you didn't know, was the last movie done by Heath Ledger before he passed away and the movie was duly completed due to the help from his all star friends (Johnny Depp, Jude Law and Colin Farrell) who stood in to portray him at different points in the movie. Given that case, the movie still flowed very smoothly. I hardly noticed the changes (Except Colin Farrell) and it was played out quite comedically which worked quite well.

I actually get the feeling like the ending was changed due to Heath's passing, but apparently it wasn't. At the ending I was also thinking a lot of "WHY! You can't tell me it ends this way!", but I was content at the end of it though. I like happy or at least satisfiable endings and the Imaginarium provided it.

Treat it as an arthouse movie. It doesn't exactly qualify as a full 'fairytale' story nor can it be a dark fantasy movie. It feels artsy and is trying to tell an unconventional story which it is.

Last point before I end this:

Laura Shigihara - Look Up At The Sky

Loved her "Zombie on Your Lawn" song and suddenly went back to check out her other stuff. The picture of her and the Sunflower is just sooooo cute. XD

January 6, 2010

~ Legion ~

LEGION

I can definitely dig the fact that Paul Bettany looks kinda badass in this. And that God's second flood is a flood of Angels to destroy us all. Isn't that just awesome?

Bob: I don't even believe in God
Archangel Michael: He probably doesn't believe in you either.

Awesome line! That's what I was always thinking when people say they don't believe in God, since you don't believe in him, you shouldn't be surprised when he doesn't believe in you either. So in that respect, I'm fully prepared to go to Hell when my time comes up. ^__^

I mean come on, there's no way I'll qualify for heaven anyway. Haha.

Back to the buildup for the movie. I think it'll be entertaining at the very least. I've always said that the bible makes for some awesome fiction/fantasy and the fact that they made this movie this way proves that. Take any phrase from the bible and the movie makers can twist, mold or adapt it into a story worth telling.

And I like that the Angels are not all of the winged variety. The preconception that Angels are all white and fluffy creatures should really be corrected. Why? Cause I just like it that way. Although the fact that all movies seem to be going to the dark path seems a bit annoying. I would like to someday see a new movie that is all fluffy and cute and fun (Hollywood Chihuahua anyone?).

Anyway, let's hope I get to see this unlike that Zombieland movie which has now hit my "never watch in the cinema" list (New Moon was the first one in that list, I'll get to that list in another post.).

January 5, 2010

~ The -New- Year ~

So while I said I started off my new year by watching TV, my family and I did something out of the ordinary that night. We decided to BBQ that night! XD

I mean it really was a result of a few random things:
1. I said I had a BBQ Party to attend the next day.
2. We say this couple BBQ-ing outside their house for no apparent reason.
3. We were at the supermarket and just decided to do it.

So yea... haha.

My brother was basically just BBQing and not really eating. But it was fun. We even got the neighbors to come over. Although at this point after attending the other BBQ party, I would say we oughta have bought cheese sausages. But then I'm not complaining. Haha.

I would talk about the other BBQ party, but I think I would talk about it next post. It was kinda epic to just be mentioned on in passing.

Bypassing that, 4 days into the new year, I went to fill my tooth today and the doctor who told me about the cavity couldn't find it! It was kinda funny, for a while, until the doctor (Dentist?) started poking and prying looking for it. Anyway, she did find it and it's now fixed. Although it still feels a bit weird, which in it itself is weird.

Anyway, I finally managed to get enough frames to do this:

^____^

HAHAHAHAHAHA...

Funny vids btw (All taken from Rooster Teeth's Drunk Tank Link Dump!)

Burnie playing and falling on Tony Hawk's RIDE

Gravity Defying Drunk (I know I posted this before, but it's still just so hilarious...)

~ Tesco Bloody Conned Me ~

I wanted photo frames, so when I went shopping at Tesco, I thought I'll just pick some up, so I went and searched for it, and found these, each at RM2.90

I didn't think about it till I wanted to buy some more frames and since I was Jusco at the time, I went to check out the exact same thing...

They were at RM1.90 each. =.=

I mean what the heck man, it cost me less to buy three of them at Jusco than two of them at Tesco!!! I was, quite well and truly pissed. I could've seriously bought 3 of them at Jusco and still save 10 cents! I mean what the heck man!!!

Zzz... anyone know where I can send a complaint against Tesco?

Oh, and the reason I bought them:

=P

~ New year, past year ~

Firstly, happy 2010!

There are quite a few things in 2009 that I haven't gotten yet, mainly some TV shows that I haven't caught up on, and some reading that I have yet to actually start.

Additionally, all three gayo daejun shows that were shown in the past few days. The internet here is really really crappy that I don't even feel like streaming them to see. =.=

I did however stream parts of it:

Yoona, Uee, Gain - Like a Virgin

Yuri, Hyun Ah, Ga Hee - Womanizer

Shitzz, I didn't realize that was English. Yoona looks damn pretty though. XD

After School & Son Dam Bi - When I Grow Up

This was quite good. XD

New year! Really, doesn't feel much different to me. Issit a problem that it feels like I'm already jaded even though I'm still relatively quite young? ^^;;;

First thing I did in 2010, watch TV. ^^;;; HAHAHA...

Anyway:

Happy New Year!!!
