~ The Imaginarium ~

First of all, turns out I'm a bit too lazy to want to talk extensively about the awesome BBQ that we had last Saturday, so in that regard, I would like to direct you to Koci, Yong, Zhou (Maybe) and others blogs to read up on that if you wanna (All links on the right side of this layout at this point). Pictures if any are at my Facebook and by extension, my friends galleries cause I don't post any pictures of myself anywhere on Facebook. (My FB: Advanced_Bishop(at)hotmail(dot)com, I always wanted to do that. :P)

All I'm going to say about it are:
1. Food was awesome. I mean seriously awesome. (Kudos to Koci!)
2. Company was awesome. ^^;;
3. While I still don't 100% get why people get drunk for the heck of it, it was actually kinda fun. And next time if I do drink, I would like to actually try tasting the thing cause, really, I was too caught up in thinking whether I could really handle it to really think about tasting anything. And I still have some rashes from it btw, most of it has recovered, but there are still rashes in places you don't want to know. ;P

So on to:

The Imaginarium of Dr. Parnassus

Just a very convoluted show. I wasn't sure what I was watching and the ending is still a bit confusing to me although I think I get it now.

I would like to point out though, that I mistook Lily Cole for Christina Ricci and later for Devon Aoki. And while I thought she looked really really really awesome in the movie, I am actually finding it hard to find a picture I like that I can post here.

This maybe. Maybe I was influenced by Dr. Parnassus yesterday, I really can't find a picture of her that I really really like. Unless you want to count the French Playboy pictures, which are... nice? But just doesn't really appeal all that much to me.

Still, I would become a fan if for no other reason than she is English and I think Englishwomen are hot. Or alternatively, let's just leave it at I'm not choosy. ^^

The Imaginarium of Dr. Parnassus by the way, is quite a nice movie. It, if you didn't know, was the last movie done by Heath Ledger before he passed away and the movie was duly completed due to the help from his all star friends (Johnny Depp, Jude Law and Colin Farrell) who stood in to portray him at different points in the movie. Given that case, the movie still flowed very smoothly. I hardly noticed the changes (Except Colin Farrell) and it was played out quite comedically which worked quite well.

I actually get the feeling like the ending was changed due to Heath's passing, but apparently it wasn't. At the ending I was also thinking a lot of "WHY! You can't tell me it ends this way!", but I was content at the end of it though. I like happy or at least satisfiable endings and the Imaginarium provided it.

Treat it as an arthouse movie. It doesn't exactly qualify as a full 'fairytale' story nor can it be a dark fantasy movie. It feels artsy and is trying to tell an unconventional story which it is.

Last point before I end this:

Laura Shigihara - Look Up At The Sky

Loved her "Zombie on Your Lawn" song and suddenly went back to check out her other stuff. The picture of her and the Sunflower is just sooooo cute. XD
