~ 2D is now - just so boring... XD ~

So while I said I was going to watch Avatar at the weekend, I just couldn't wait and additionally, everyone just seems much too busy to like give me a time that they can definitely make it, and also no one seemed that pumped up to wanna watch it, so hell... I decided to go watch alone...

Or that's what I should've done...

So I called Drew, who said he'll come with his sisters... okay... no big deal. So I'm there like 2 hours early (Cause I'm just paranoid that way) and I bought the tickets, so I'm happy, I'm there waiting for the three people to come... and they hit the place at 3.20pm... the show started at 3.10pm... =.=

I was kinda majorly pissed... cause I wanna watch trailers (If it had any...) and this was supposed to be my relax movie (First movie I watched since I came back...) and this was also the first 3D movie I would be watching since... er... I don't remember what was the last 3D movie I watched... AND I wanted the time to adjust my glasses and the 3D glasses...

So to be going in 10 minutes late is just... UGH!!!

And I never told you 3.20pm... see... proof... XD

Everyone I asked to go though, were so damn surprised that DP has Avatar in 3D... so apparently Melaka isn't such a backward state after all. ^^

The movie itself, without the 3D stuff, is kinda simple, which I like. Why go for a complicated storyline when no one who walks out of the cinema understands? (Matrix Reloaded/Revolutions, The Spirit, Primer) Man infiltrates indigenous species, man falls in love, man goes against the world domination idea stuff yada yada yada. It's not a story we haven't heard before.

Who would fall in love with that? =.=

I was squirming at a few points of this whirlwind romance. But it was tolerable... ^^;

It doesn't take a genius to figure the story from the trailer. So as far as story goes, it IS simple, but I did like it. Genius is in its simplicity. ^_^

The world is brilliant though. What with the extensive created language, the extensive wildlife, the extensive plants and stuff. It was quite obvious James Cameron is trying to make a world which people will want to revisit and learn about in the years to come.

The 3D part, is kinda awesome. In a subtle way. I am damn glad I did not get nauseous with the effects or the glasses. Drew said like the movie wasn't made for 3D, like things were supposed to fly out at you, special sequences to show off the 3D technology, yada yada yada. But really, why would you want something special to show off the tech? The fact that I am already seeing everything in 3D is already very impressive for me. And I did sorta get fooled at a point when dust was floating around the screen and I thought it was actual dust... ^^;;

At the end of the thing I was thinking how boring 2D movies are now. How boring issit to see Zombies running around the place and eating people in 2D. Imagine it in 3D... that'll be just awesome!

One gripe I have, is that I cannot wear glasses on top of my glasses. It's just so damn irritating. I wish they had something like clip ons. (Drunk Tank's idea... XD) Alternatively, I could get lenses, but I don't like touching my eye. =.=

But really, 3D is just very very impressive to me. I wish I could get more 3D movies around. XD

Ultimately, I would say watch Avatar in 3D. It is a very very beautiful movie. And the 3D just enhances it. Watching it in 2D is fine, just that 3D just makes it so much more alive.

Now I'm wishing I watched it at IMAX... haha.

(Hit this on Innit... yes... I admit, I would love more visitors, so I thought hell, why not try posting it there... haha...)

T___T
I watched Avatar in 2D. The movie was great, but in my heart, I think it would look awsome if it is 3D. Yeah, Imax 3D experience is greater (might be greatest) among all cinema in Malaysia.

Watch it again in 3D... :P
I have no doubt it is a good movie, just that without the special effects and stuff, the story is kinda straightforward. XD

Andrew couldn't be more wrong on this one. James Cameron shot the whole thing in 3D aiming for 3d, THEN formatted it for 2d. Things flying at you does not a 3d film make :P SO cheesy lah! I prefer the subtlety of this 3d effect because it's real enough to be believable but you dont get 'hey look this is 3d' sequences.. and it's not nauseating! :p

AND NEYTIRI IS HOT OKAY WTF
